The Free Clinic of Central Virginia, Inc. would like to extend its THANKS to all the people who supported the extremely successful James River Charity Basketball Tournament on March 22-23. Almost $9,000 was raised to assist with the important medical, dental, pharmaceutical and educational services, which are offered to all those who need them in Central Virginia.
Thanks to the major Tournament ($1000+) Sponsors, which were The News and Advance and BB&T. Thanks to Manager Level ($500+) sponsors: Benchmark Systems, Candler Oil, Centra Health, Rehabilitation Associates of Central Virginia, Schewel's Furniture, and Wachovia Bank. Thanks to Player ($250+) sponsors: Bank of the James, First National Bank of Altavista, N.B. Handy, and Southern Air, Inc. Thanks to the Referee ($100+) sponsors: Elks Lodge, Industrial Products, Hurt & Profitt, and Flippen, Bruce, & Porter, Inc.
Thanks to Lynchburg College, Randolph Macon Women's College, and Jubilee Center for reserving their gymnasiums for tournament games. Thanks to Bob Walker and the Colonial Officials Association for donating one-half of their fees to the Free Clinic. Thanks also to High Peak Sporstwear ($500+ toward T-Shirts) and the American Sign Shop for changing the dates on our banner at no charge.
Thanks to the teams from Abbot Labs (Consolation Bracket Champion), Barr Labs, BWXT, Framatone, Intermet-Archer Creek, G. E. Financial Assurance (Champions), Georgia-Pacific, Westover Dairy, Weyerhauser (Runner-UP Champion), UVA Alums, VA Tech Alums, Scott Insurance, WSET, Heritage Alums, E. C.
