The Free Clinic of Central Virginia held the annual James River Charity Basketball Tournament over the weekend of March 20th-21st. As usual, it was a great success due to the financial and in-kind backing from the following corporate contributors: The News and Advance, Barr Labs, Bank of the James, BB&T, Benchmark Systems, Centra Health, High Peak Sportswear, Schewels, Wachovia, Hurt and Proffitt, Rehabilitation Associates of Central Virginia, Southern Air, Inc., First National Bank of Altavista, Flippen, Bruce, Porter, Inc., N. B. Handy, Inc., Elks Club, Planters Bank and Campbell Insurance.

The members of the committee thank Lynchburg College and Randolph-Macon Woman’s College, for use of their excellent facilities during the weekend. Thanks especially to Georgia Delbridge, Special Events Corodinator at the FC, for her significant and reliable work. Special Thanks to Rick Klein for coordinating the LC gym on both days.

The tournament was a success also due to the officiating by The Colonial Officials Association under the leadership of Mr. Bob Walker, and the clock and scoring volunteers: Nathan Gillispie, Ben Ruele, Candace and Ashley Farringer, Peter Okemmuo, R.J.
