SPECIAL RECOGNITION EVENT

On Friday, June 17 the Free Clinic of Central Virginia held a Special Recognition Event. Honored for its outstanding support to the clinic was the Robert S. Burruss Family. Mrs. Robert S. Burruss (Margaret) removed the veil on a plaque at the Nurses' Station recognizing the family's financial and personal support to the work of the Free Clinic. Also attending the event were Hanna Burruss & Hugh Whaley, Mary Burruss Ping, Becky Burruss Satterfield and other family members and friends. Recognized separately were five volunteers, who served with dignity and graciousness for many years providing needed services to FC patients. Those honored were: Bernard "Bert" Eisler, Meigh Eisler, Crystabel Harris, Dr. Joseph Levine, and Sidney E. Sutherland. A plaque, which reads "In Memoriam - We remember the FC volunteers who are no longer with us in body, but always in spirit. Their selfless gifts of time and talent continue to inspire us, to love mercy and to do justice." Doris Sutherland and Lillian Link (Levine) attended the event to share in the memory of their respective husbands' dedicated service to others, and they jointly unveiled the new plaque in the waiting room.
