FREE CLINIC GETS $22,000 DONATION FROM SMITH MOUNTAIN LAKE HOME TOUR
(November 18, 2003)It was announced last Friday, November 14 at a luncheon at the Radford Baptist Church in Moneta that the Free Clinic of Central Virginia, Inc. was the recipient of $22,000 from the 2003 Smith Mountain Lake Home Tour. This unrestricted donation will allow the Free Clinic to deliver over $132,000 worth of medical, dental, and pharmaceutical services to Central Virginians (City of Lynchburg and Counties of Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, and Campbell) as the clinic is currently able to get over a $6 return in services for every $1 donated. This funding is especially useful as it will be used to directly support the general operating expenses of the clinic in the 2003-2004 fiscal year.
