FREE CLINIC AWARDED THREE SPECIAL GRANTS

The Free Clinic of Central Virginia at 1016 Main Street in Lynchburg has been the recent recipient of three major grants from area Foundations.

The Plymale Foundation has given a special $5,000 grant to support the construction work on six new dental operatories on the middle floor of the clinic. This "From Three to Six" building campaign is designed to double the number of patient visit slots for dental services from 2,000 to 4,000 per year.

The Genworth Foundation has also provided a second grant of $5,000 to continue its support of the Breast Health Program. These funds will enable the clinic to provide educational programs, examinations, and mammograms for patients through September 2007.

Finally, Delta Dental, Inc has renewed its operating funding of the Daytime Dental Service Program with a third grant of $10,000. This donation helps pay for the supplies and other expenses for the on-going partnership with the VCU School of Dentistry to staff this crucial program.

Individuals who wish to support the operating expenses for these programs can send tax-deductible designated donations to the Free Clinic.
