COUNTY ORGANIZATIONS SUPPORT FREE CLINIC
The Free Clinic of Central Virginia, which provides medical, dental and pharmaceutical services for underinsured and uninsured Central Virginians (Cities of Lynchburg and Bedford as well as counties of Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, and Campbell) has recently received significant grants from two major supporters. The Bedford Community Health Foundation has awarded a $5,000 grant to support Free Clinic services for Bedford residents and the Stout Springs Ruritan Club voted a $2,000 grant to assist with the care of Appomattox County citizens. Other county based organizations that provide regular support to the clinic include the Amherst County Episcopal Thrift Shop and the Altavista Community Chest. The Free Clinic supports thousands of persons throughout Central Virginia for their medical, prescription, and/or dental care.
