LOCAL GRANTS RECEIVEDThe Free Clinic has recently been the beneficiary again of four local grants from area foundations. In December, the Burruss Family Foundation donated $9,000 to be used for the clinic’s general operating costs. This was followed up in January with a $3,000 grant from the Retail Merchants Foundation to also be used in the operating area. Delta Dental, Inc., which is headquartered in Roanoke, contributed $3,355 in January for dental supplies to be used in the daytime dental program. Finally, the Genworth Financial Foundation has earmarked a $5,000 donation to provide some mammograms for Free Clinic patients.
