PRESS RELEASE
FREE CLINIC GETS MAMMOGRAM FUNDINGThe Free Clinic of Central Virginia will receive full funding for all mammograms for its Free Clinic medical patients due to the financial support from the M.A.A.M Program and the MDM Networking, Inc in calendar year 2010. The "Mammograms Annually A Must" (M.A.A.M.) Program and MDM Networking, Inc, which is led by three Lynchburg area sisters - Violet Mitchell, Kathryn Drayton, and Louise Mitchell are providing this needed support. Centra Health also covers part of the costs for each mammogram in their indigent care budget.
Every woman - especially between the ages of 40-60 and/or with high risks for breast cancer - should have an annual mmamogram. Sometimes persons without insurance, Medicaid, or Medicare, who make up the balance of Free Clinic patients, will forego this annual "check up". Now, any approved Free Clinic medical patient will have this very essential, preventative opportunity!
