LOCAL FOUNDATIONS SUPPORT FREE CLINIC
Over the past three months, the Free Clinic of Central Virginia at 1016 Main Street has received five grants from local foundations.
The Plymale Foundation has awarded two grants totaling $6,500 to support the construction of six new dental operatories on the middle floor of the clinic.
The Genworth Foundation provided a second annual grant of $5,000 to continue its support of the Breast Health & Education Program, which includes free mammograms for patients.
Delta Dental, Inc of Roanoke has renewed its support of the Daytime Dental Program with a third grant of $10,000 to cover operating expenses.
Finally, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield of Virginia has awarded another $10,000 grant to be used for general operating expenses in 2007. All of these gifts help the Free Clinic provide medical and dental services to needy Central Virginians.
