ANTHEM GIVES FREE CLINIC NEW $20K GRANT
Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Virginia has announced a $20,000 grant to the Free Clinic of Central Virginia, Inc to provide additional support to the Free Clinic's Breast Cancer Program. The program was fully funded in 2003-2004 by the Susan Komen Foundation, but it was only partially funded by this foundation in 2005-2006.
The funds will primarily be used to provide mammograms for Free Clinic patients. They will also be used for outreach educational efforts, staff support, and instructional services for patients (i.e. breast self-exam techniques; physical examinations, etc.).
Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield has also provide $10,000 annual grants for the general operating budget of this Free Clinic and about 30 others in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
