FREE CLINIC APPOINTS THREE NEW BOARD MEMBERS
Robert Barlow, Executive Director and Abigail Haney, President of the Board of Directors have announced the appointment of three new members to the Board of Directors at the Free Clinic of Central Virginia, Inc. Their terms of service began on April 1, 2006.
They are:
- Harriet Whitten, Director of Development at Patrick Henry's Boys' Home in Brookneal. She is a professional fundraiser who formerly served in a similar capacity at RMWC in Lynchburg. She has been a volunteer for the Free Clinic as a eligibility screener and with the Loft Tour in 2005 and 2006.
- Dr. Patricia Pletke, an MD employed with the Lynchburg Family Residency Program. Dr. Pletke is also a long time Free Clinic medical volunteer. She received a "Lifesaver" Award from the Free Clinic in 2005.
- Connie Shannon, who formerly served as the Director of the Alumni Fund at RMWC, moved to Lynchburg in 2003.
The following officers will retain their positions for 2006-2007:
- Abigail Haney, President; Katheryn Mays, Vice-President; Stuart
- Turille - Treasurer; Dr. Augustus Petticolas - Past President; and
- Dr. Dean Giankos - Medical Director. Dr. Peggy Berger will succeed
- Dr. James Wright as Secretary.
